CPA Lwanga Mbeche

CPA Lwanga Mbeche is the Chief Executive Officer of Afya SACCO Society Limited, where he provides strategic leadership and oversight for the SACCO’s growth, sustainability, and transformation agenda.

He holds an MBA in Strategic Management, a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration (Accounting & Finance), and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Directors (IoD) Kenya, and an accredited African Development Educator (ADE) with ACCOSCA. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Finance.

Mr. Mbeche brings over 20 years of experience in the SACCO sector, more than 15 of which have been at senior leadership level. His expertise spans financial management and reporting, strategy formulation and execution, change and performance management, and institutional governance.

Prior to joining Afya SACCO, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kimisitu DT SACCO, where he led a period of strong growth in membership and assets. During his tenure, he successfully spearheaded the launch of FOSA operations, achieved ISO 9001 certification, and expanded the SACCO’s footprint into new markets including Kisumu and Mombasa. Under his leadership, the institution received several national recognitions, including the Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award 2024 and the Gold Mark CIO Dx100 Awards in 2023 and 2024.

As CEO, Mr. Mbeche is focused on strengthening financial resilience, enhancing service delivery, deepening member trust, and positioning Afya SACCO as a modern, well-governed, and future-ready cooperative institution.

CPA Anthony O. Monda DE

CPA Anthony Monda is the Head of Finance at Afya SACCO Society Limited, where he is responsible for financial stewardship, reporting integrity, resource optimization, and strategic financial planning.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), a member of ICPAK, and an accredited African Development Educator (ADE). He holds certification from the Kenya Institute of Management under the Organization Performance Index (OPI) Champions’ Business Excellence Program, reinforcing his commitment to financial excellence, transparency, and sustainable institutional growth.

Mr. Monda brings over 15 years of experience in the banking and SACCO sectors, including service at senior leadership level in a Tier 1 SACCO as Head of Finance and Head of Finance & Strategy. His expertise includes financial management, cooperative strategy, performance monitoring, internal controls, and system design.
Prior to joining Afya SACCO, he served as General Manager, Finance at Sheria SACCO and Head of Finance and Strategy, where he led strategic planning and improved data cleanup and reconciliations, resulting in timely and accurate financial records for both the society and its members.

He is proficient in big data modelling and analytics, utilizing advanced tools such as IDEA and Microsoft Office to support data-driven decision-making, data integrity, and high-quality financial reporting.

Head of HR and Admin

CHRP Godrick A. Itur

Godrick Arthur Itur is the Head of Human Resource & Administration at Afya SACCO Society Limited, where he provides strategic leadership on people governance, organizational culture, and workforce effectiveness.
He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership and Management and is a is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K).

Mr. Itur has over 18 years of progressive human resource leadership experience across financial services, government, retail, hospitality, education, and energy sectors. His role focuses on aligning human capital strategy with Afya SACCO’s transformation objectives, regulatory obligations, and member service mandate.

Prior to joining Afya SACCO, he held senior HR leadership roles at the Agricultural Finance Corporation, Naivas Limited, and other reputable institutions. In recognition of his impact in the profession, he was named First Runners-Up – Most Inspiring HR Male of the Year (2021). His leadership philosophy balances people advocacy with business discipline to deliver measurable institutional value.

As the of Head of Human Resources and Administration, Mr. Itur is responsible for workforce planning, performance and culture management, leadership development, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and HR systems governance. He plays a central role in driving organizational change, strengthening leadership capability, enhancing employee experience, and building a high-performance, values-driven culture.

Mr. Francis Lang’at

Mr. Francis Lang’at is the Head of Credit at Afya SACCO Society Limited, where he oversees the SACCO’s credit strategy, portfolio quality, and lending risk management framework.

He holds an MBA in Finance, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), and a Bachelor of Education. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya), reflecting his strong grounding in corporate governance and ethical leadership.
Mr. Lang’at has over 15 years of experience in financial services and is uniquely positioned at the intersection of finance, law, and governance. He specializes in designing and managing robust credit frameworks that balance regulatory compliance, risk management, and sustainable portfolio growth.

Prior to Joining Afya SACCO, he served as the Credit and Risk Manager at Finnlemm SACCO, where he oversaw credit strategy, loan portfolio risk management, and operational efficiency. While at Chai SACCO Society Limited where he served in various management roles he streamlined credit operations, enhanced regulatory compliance and reporting, staff performance, and branch growth. During this period, he achieved significant growth in customer numbers, contributing to the opening of satellite offices, and implemented enhanced credit appraisal and monitoring frameworks.

His leadership approach emphasizes disciplined credit management, ethical decision-making, and the protection of member value while supporting responsible access to credit. He is focused on strengthening credit governance, enhancing portfolio quality, supporting responsible access to credit, and ensuring Afya SACCO’s credit operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the SACCO’s long-term strategic objectives.
